Trail of National Significance

Once in awhile an opportunity of outdoor magnificence presents itself, and the people must act upon it. We believe such an opportunity exists before us and needs nurturing. This opportunity is 28 miles of railroad track that has not been used for 15 years in El Dorado County from Latrobe to Placerville. Along this section of abandoned rail corridor, we envision a trail serving nature walkers, runners, hikers, bicyclists, people with disabilities and horseback riders. We envision a trail that connects the Folsom trails to the Placerville trails and further up the road a trail extending to South Lake Tahoe. A trail that is designated  as part of the Cross the State Bicycle Trail. It would be an experience that allows for over 80 miles of  nature trails within El Dorado County, safely navigated without cars alongside you. This opportunity is Now and we need community support to finish this trail.
